Client Objectives
The client aimed to provide a functional yet welcoming space suitable for family dental care, emphasizing a professional yet comfortable environment for patients of all ages. The design needed to adhere to industry regulations, including accessibility standards for disabled patients, while creating an efficient workflow for staff.
Scope of Work
The scope covered the complete interior fitout of a 125m² dental clinic, including:
- Architectural layout design and space planning
- Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services installation
- Custom joinery and cabinetry for dental surgeries and sterilization room
- Flooring, ceiling, and painting works in all clinical and non-clinical areas
- Installation of specialized equipment in the OPG room for panoramic X-rays
- Accessibility compliance, including the design and construction of a disabled toilet
Key Design Features
- Reception & Waiting Area: The reception area was designed to be open and inviting, with modern, minimalist aesthetics. Comfortable seating, ample natural light, and a neutral color palette helped create a relaxing atmosphere. A feature wall with the clinic’s branding was integrated to enhance the professional appeal.
- Dental Surgeries (3x): Each surgery room was designed for optimal ergonomics, equipped with the latest dental equipment. Custom joinery was used to house tools and materials in a way that maximized workflow efficiency and ensured a clutter-free workspace.
- Sterilization Room: Built according to industry hygiene standards, this room included custom cabinetry for equipment storage and efficient processing of instruments.
- OPG Room: The Orthopantomogram (OPG) room was designed to house advanced dental X-ray equipment.
- Disabled Toilet: Fully compliant with Australian accessibility standards, this space was designed with ease of access in mind, including support rails, an accessible sink, and wider doorways for wheelchair use.
